Spiritual Fuel Wednesday, 20 November 2013 The Man Who Sustains the Universe Its a scientific fact that creation cannot sustain itself… The universe needs a continual impartation of power and energy to keep order—it operates according to LAWS, and these laws are sustained by Jesus word. Actually, when scientists discover the laws of universe they are discerning the sustaining power of Jesus word. Some call them laws of nature others universal laws. Some years ago, the law of attraction gained some momentum in the literary world (specially among new agers). This law, however, can be explained by one sentence from Jesus: according to your faith is done to you (Mt. 9:29). The law of attraction (which is just another way to explain how faith works) is but one universal law… there are many more and are all sustained by the words of Jesus. Upholding all things by the word of His power (Heb. 1:3) Jesus sustains the worlds in the same way that He created them, by WORDS that release His power (Gen. 1:3; Heb. 11:3). To uphold all things means to sustain or support them continuously. What can be more difficult than sustaining the universe? The Man Who REDEEMS the Universe GOD had to become human to offer Himself as the offering for sin. This was way more difficult than creating the worlds... He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty… (Heb. 1:3) Because sin created a great crisis that released death and demons that harm creation. And the Father had to find a sinless man who could solve the crisis created by sin. Jesus had to become human (forever) and live in perfect righteousness to qualify as the offering for sin (Heb. 2:10-16; 5:8-9). Jesus, the innocent One, became guilty so that guilty ones could become innocent. Nothing is difficult for the God who governs all things merely by His word. But God acknowledged one area of difficulty: it is with difficulty that the righteous is saved (1 Pet. 4:18) Accomplishing our salvation was complex and difficult. Think about it… how a righteous God restores humans to Himself without violating His justice or their free will? The Man Who RULES the Universe As a Man, Jesus was exalted to the Fathers right hand and enthroned as king (Mt. 28:18). Jesus enthronement to the highest position of honor is proof that the Father received His offering for our sin. The right hand of the Majesty is the ultimate place of power (Heb. 8:1). When He…purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. (Heb. 1:3) Both Ezekiel and Daniel saw a Man on a throne in heaven. The presence of a Man so exalted is a statement about Gods plans for the human race. This Man, at the very pinnacle of power… beckons the human race to rule with Him (Rev. 3:21). This is the greatest breakthrough in human history. A throne…like a sapphire stone…with the appearance of a man high above it. (Ezek. 1:26) Behold, One like the Son of Man, coming with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient of Days…14To Him was given dominion…that all peoples…should serve Him. (Dan. 7:13-14) Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me… (Jn. 17:24) Today you have an opportunity to know and encounter the sustainer, redeemer and ruler of the universe… His name is Jesus… the lover of your soul.
