Spoke to a fine group of gentlemen last night, most of whom were avid deer hunters. The passage of scripture the Lord gave me for them was Hebrews10:19-24. Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way, which was consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, His flesh; and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith... As Id pointed out to them, the word new in the phrase new and living way is translated from a word used only once in all of the Greek New Testament. It means, recently slain; fresh, i.e. lately made. The point I was making was that, despite the fact that Jesus was slain more than 2000 years ago, the blood trail that leads beyond the veil is still just as fresh, wet and warm as it was the day it was first spilled for us; and its still every bit as effective! Therefore, it shouldnt be difficult for us to follow Him, if we have a genuine desire to find Him. If anyone knows the value of having a fresh blood trail to follow, its a deer hunter! ;)
