Spoke with Dr. Bansal, internal medicine/Family Practice about ADP - TopicsExpress

Spoke with Dr. Bansal, internal medicine/Family Practice about ADP (air displacement plethysmography/Bod Pod) versus DEXA and he was of the opinion that repeated studies would be best for the patient that was taking their fat loss serious. Dexa is just not feasible for the casual consumer and Bod Pod is the affordable accurate instrument of choice. A person looking to lower their body fat by 20 to 30 pounds and prohibit lean mass loss should plot a ten to twenty week protocol. That is a long time to just trust a scale. [Our multi test package of 3 or more would cost less than one DEXA ($200).] We discussed the role of health insurance carriers in this matter... and both agree that 95% of carriers are only going to pay for disease treatment after the fact. It is up to the individual in prevention of obesity related disorders. We are designing plotting and progression methods for our medical based clients. Sadly, some "medical weight loss" clinics simply prescribe and show you the door minus the follow thru. We will be working with participating gyms, crossfits, pilates, run clubs, and basically find support networks that emphasize MOVEMENT and positivity! If you are a gym owner, trainer, crossfit coach, or nutrition center rep want to promote your business to our patients and thus share some ad space for us in your business, let me know!
