Spoke with Dr today on the phone about daddy as Im trying to get over the flu and I cant go be with him. They have had to sedate him once again BC of pain with the incision and other reasons so he doesnt know Im not there. He called to discuss tracheotomy options BC the pulmonologist doesnt think he will be able to come off the ventilator. Im left with the unbearable decision on what to do and I hate this. I dont want to make this decision. I just want my dad. I want him better! His nurse tonight had the Chaplin call to pray with me over the phone and wanted to make sure its OK if she prays for him. Of course it is. Im just amazed at St. Thomas...they truly care about their patients and the families. Sure wish all hospitals,doctors and nurses were on the same level as they are. Definitely wouldnt be left with a decision like this to make. Ill know more Monday as we are having a meeting to discuss whats next. Please keep my brother and I in your prayers.
