SportChat SA: Season Review: Currie Cup: Blue Bulls: after ending second on the combined Super Rugby Log alot more was expected from the Bulls in this Years Currie Cup than the fifth place finish! They really had a poor CC Campaign with a few good wins, I do predict Them to go far with the Young team They got in future! Cheetahs : Compared to the Super Rugby season they had this was a below par CC Campaign from the men from Bloem, they lost home games that they should have won, and the players didnt look up to the challenge of even wanting to win the CC, Griquas: Had a great start with a win in Durban and lost a few close games at Home, poor season from them all round and Theyll be missed next Year (unless the cc expands to eight teams in mid december) Lions: the standard of play in the cc from the lions will make it hard to believe that Theyll not get the wooden Spoon (yet again) in Super Rugby, a once proud Union that needs alot more than just money, as a team they had a pretty decent cc campaign but never really looked like a side that wanted to win it! Sharks: the old saying is that it doesnt matter how much You win, its when You win that matters most, losing at home first up didnt do the teams confidence any good, yet they showed composure throughout the campaign and after the performance in the final they can call themselves deserved champions! WP: Unbeaten until the final and they got a hiding in the final, yet again its not how much you win but when you win, the most setteled Team throughout the whole cc campaign with a few lucky draws and sneaky wins along the way, yet theyll have to settle for second best!
