Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho has admitted that he could join either Manchester United or Real Madrid at the end of the season. The highly-rated midfielder is set to leave Portugal where he earns just £4,000 per month for a big money move to a top European side. United have been monitoring his situation very closely and have sent scouts to a large majority of his matches this season as they look to add youth to their squad. However they may face serious competition after Carvalho believes that Real Madrid also want him in the summer. Reported in the Express, he said: “Its nice being praised and to know there are some big clubs interested in me, It could be Manchester United or Real Madrid. Its just nice to have a great European club after me, but at the moment Im just totally focused on Sporting and doing my best until the end of the season. At the end of the campaign, we will see what happens. The 21-year-old who has been likened to Patrick Viera, has emerged as a serious talent since breaking into the first team last season. He has a £37million release clause in his contract but Sporting could be willing to sell for around £20million. It may turn into a bidding war between United and Madrid.
