(SportsDirect News) Atletico Madrid are keeping tabs on Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina as they consider their options for a new goalkeeper next summer, SportsDirect News has learned. The Spanish shot-stopper is currently on a season-long loan from Liverpool at Serie A outfit Napoli, and is widely expected to leave Anfield on a permanent deal next season. Although Reina has performed well for Napoli this term, it is thought that the Italian giants do not hold out much hope of keeping him after his loan spell ends, and he has been linked several times with a move to Barcelona. However, Atletico are also on the lookout for a new goalkeeper if they fail to keep hold of their own loan star Thibaut Courtois, who is in his third season with the club on a temporary deal from Chelsea. Courtois has impressed immensely during his time in Spain, and may be in contention for the number one spot at Stamford Bridge next season, as well as being another name on Barcelonas list of potential targets between the sticks. With Atletico looking increasingly unlikely to retain the young Belgians services, it has now emerged that manager Diego Simeone will keep an eye on Reinas situation ahead of next summers transfer window.
