Spotlight *new poem* So many dark hours were spent crying through these verses until I could only ever truly show my emotion when I write; These verses started by writing under a candle, but today i am writing under the spotlight I guess I used these verses like a tissue to soak up a lifetime full of goodbyes and grief; It was a simple piece of paper that gave me hope, It was a simple verse where I first found belief I became my own biggest critic, i would take things back and start from scratch if the words I wrote didnt make me cry; These verses gave me a stage to talk to the people i have lost, because I never got the chance to say my goodbye Some people say what doesnt kill you only makes you stronger, and I am living proof that saying is true; I learnt to stop blaming others for all the mistakes I made, as my refelction taught me the only person to blame for failing is you I stepped out from the shadows and when people put me down I used this pen to fight; These verses started by writing under a candle, but today i am writing under the spotlight Barry Mowles
