Spotlight on Adoptable Rescues #3 The Left Behinds… When a cat is simply left behind when her people move, it astonishes most everyone. How do people live with themselves when they simply walk away? When that cat is a young mom, and has been allowed to breed due to those same irresponsible people, it becomes plain mind-boggling. That was Kimi’s story, and most sadly is not an uncommon one at all. They simply moved, TOOK HER KITTENS, and left HER to wander the neighborhood looking for food – and attention! What absolute creeps (sorry, editorial comment there…) Fortunately Kimi was very friendly – when kind hearted people realized this skinny cat was actually starving, they went looking for help. Jan stepped in to help her, and found not only was she starving, she had a huge hernia requiring a pretty extensive surgical repair. And – she got it done, going on to a recovery where she showed what an incredibly wonderful cat she is! Her foster mom has this to say about her: • “Kimi loves attention and is a sweet friendly cat. She loves people and likes to be in the middle of all the attention. She is alert, has lots of energy and loves to play with Da-bird and laser pointer. She must have excellent hearing as she perks up at the slightest sound and would make a great watch cat. She can be verbal and would be willing to tell you about her day. Kimi loves to be up high, so she would like a cat tree so she could look out the window and watch the birds and butterflies. She wants to spend time with people and when she gets tired, she will curl up with her person :) Kimi is a confident kitty and would need a family that will give her lots of time and attention. She has been around other cats and dogs, so she may like another young cat in the home to play with. *Gentle children over 7 years of age, please ” At only a year of age, Kimi has a lot of life to live - wouldn’t you like to consider this girl? Bring her home for Christmas? After all, Christmas carols are sweeter when sung with a purr :) While Kimi is currently at Paddywack’s in Mill Creek, she will showing off at the Home for the Holidays event in Mukilteo this weekend, Friday through Sunday – see our website for times/date/address communitycatcoalitionwa.org/classes/ccc-events/ Do come and meet Kimi – and many other wonderful cats (and dogs on the dog days too!)
