Spread the word, please. To those trapped, additional teams of the National Disaster Rescue Force (NDRF) are being deployed along with 100 rescue boats. People should stay as calm as possible and wait for help in the upper parts of their homes. The weather situation has improved and is expected to remain decent in the coming days. There is hope of overall improvement and we should all stay positive. Again, please stock up on clean water and take food items to upper levels. To those who are not trapped, please do not venture out of your homes unnecessarily. Flood waters can behave unpredictably. Jhelum flow from South Kashmir will continue to hit downstream areas like Srinagar. People should not congregate on bridges because they can be swept away after many days of pounding by the rivers and flood channels. This is not a time for sightseeing. Also, wading through flood waters can put you in contact with germs and chemicals (from agric and horticulture lands and industrial areas etc.). That can be harmful for your health. So, let us behave responsibly at this difficult time. If you are volunteering, it is great and thank you. But, please be careful. All others, stay home if there is no threat of water. If there is a threat, evacuate to safer areas and stay with friends or relatives. Khuda Hafiz to all.
