Spreading rumors or lies about others is not in harmony with the gospel of Jesus Christ. It never has and never will be. Families, Marriages, Friends, and associations are torn apart by slander and lies. When we follow the example of the Savior and do the best we can, we will be strengthened; yet, when we decide to rival with others and destroy them by attacking their reputation to other people, thats when trouble comes. Father in Heaven sees all things, and He knows the truth. For those that seek the truth: If we need to know the truth we can ask Him to let us know. Sometimes its easy to get an answer to a question. However, sometimes it takes effort. As you diligently research and analyze the situation more in depth, you will eventually open your eyes to the truth. The prophet Joseph Smith himself knew which church was the true church. But it came AFTER he STUDIED, PONDERED, and ASKED GOD. I am happy to say that when we live the Gospel and avoid jumping to conclusions without knowing the facts, our lives are empowered. Our church is the true church of Jesus Christ, and I have a personal, very personal and special testimony of the Savior. He lives, and The Book of Mormon is true! Since Ive come back to the U.S. Ive witnessed families torn apart by untruthful slander. It all starts with CONTENTION and JEALOUSY. The family I am going to mention has not joined the church yet. There were two sisters and three brothers. One brother and one sister had moved away, which left the other three in the same province. Theres an older sister. The youngest child is the younger daughter. Because the older sister lived with the other two brothers in the same city, and hated the youngest, she began to slander her, making up lies to continually turn her brothers and family against the youngest daughter. Her goal was to completely DISTORT their opinions of their younger sister. I watched as this person, like the Savior, endure bitter persecution in word and in feeling. Despite the youngest childs BEST EFFORTS, they were slandered and disowned. What I want to ask you is do you see WHO really caused the problem? Where is contention and Jealously from? Since the dawn of time, people have slandered the good. Look at the Prophet Isaiah the son of Amos who was mocked, ridiculed and killed by King Manasseh. Look at Prophet Joseph Smith jr., and his brother Hyrum Smith who were mocked, made fun of, lied about, and finally martyred by an angry mob. Lastly, look how the Savior Jesus Christ was treated despite HEALING the SICK, RESTORING THE SIGHT TO THE BLIND, TEACHING Love one another as I have loved you, and even CAUSING THE DEAD TO COME BACK TO LIFE. Its Satan who causes the feelings to injure others. Its a natural man-type urge. If you have done it, or If you want to do it.
