Spring Exhibition Updates: ASOC is currently seeking sponsors for art prizes for the members Annual Spring Exhibition. We are able to report that that the Peg Minty prize for landscape this year is $400. Judging criteria includes an outstanding sensitivity to the landscape, its light and its colour. The work will be technically of exceptional standard but will be free and confident, capturing something of the wonder and respect that Peg felt for her natural environment. The ASOC prize for an original work in the style of a master will also be $400. So get painting everyone. If anyone would like to be a sponsor or knows of someone they think may be interested in being a sponsor, please contact Dian Jones at [email protected] Further to the above: The Spring Exhibition Committee has a big need for fit people to erect and take down our screens (early morning Tuesday 23 & Monday 29 September). Members are encouraged to volunteer another person to undertake this task in place of one or both of their rostered time slots.
