Spring Lane Primary School has invited officers from Northampton - TopicsExpress

Spring Lane Primary School has invited officers from Northampton Central Safer Community Team to carry out a crime day on Wednesday 10 July with the children of Year 3. A classroom will be set up to look as though a break-in has taken place and the children will assist officers to work through the crime process. The mini detectives will attend the scene of crime and work through the evidence to catch the offenders. The villains will have their fingerprints and DNA taken and the children will then carry out interviews to determine their guilt. PCSO Nikki Brooks who is organising the day, said: “Officers had as much fun role playing as did the children did playing sleuth.” “This is the third year we have carried out this event at the school and it is always well received by the school, pupils and parents.” “The crime scene scenario made the experience an enjoyable occasion and was a fun and educational way of informing the children about the work of the police.” Visit the Local Policing pages at northants.police.uk for further activities planned by your Safer Community Team. Members of the press are invited to attend on Wednesday 10 July. Please contact Corporate Communications if you would like to attend.
