Spring is in the air and Summer is just around the corner. At this time of year we all look forward to spending more time outdoors so it’s important to keep our City clean, well presented and free of fire and health hazards. It’s timely to remind owners of vacant land in Wyndham of their responsibilities. Wyndham City has sent letters to owners advising the next round of inspections start from 26 September, 2013. Fines of $200 will be issued for non-compliance together with a request for a clean-up by a given time to avoid further fines and additional costs. Owners of vacant land are required to ensure grass and undergrowth is kept to a height of no more than 150mm (6 inches) and the land is clear of all rubbish, litter or any other fire hazard. Rural property owners must also ensure that fire breaks are in place. Safety is important and so is maintaining a city of which we can all be proud.
