Spring is in the air and garbage is on the ground. We have a lot of cleaning to do after the harsh winter. 25th Ward Ald. Daniel Solis and 2nd Ward Ald. Bob Fioretti are hosting Clean & Green days, as part of a citywide effort to get a fresh start after winter. The University Village Association invites neighbors to volunteer for one or both days. The aldermen will provide shovels, brooms, work gloves, etc. SATURDAY, APRIL 19 Meet at Sheridan Park, 910 S. Aberdeen 11 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Volunteer sign-in, coffee, juice and doughnuts 11:30 a.m. Welcome by Ald. Solis 12-2 p.m. Community clean-up assignments throughout the neighborhood 2-2:30 p.m. Appreciation hot dogs sponsored by Carms Beef & Italian Ice SATURDAY, APRIL 26 Meet at the UVA office, 1453 W. Taylor St. 9 a.m. Welcome and equipment and T-shirt pick-up 9:30-11:30 a.m. Clean up park at Polk and Morgan 12 p.m. Appreciation lunch provided by Ald.
