Springfield Police Update Wire Tapping Investigation (Ctsy: Springfield Police) SPRINGFIELD (WGGB) — The Springfield Police Department has updated their investigation into a woman who is charged with wire tapping her arresting officers. The confrontation that led officers to arrest Karen Dziewit, 24, of Chicopee on Sunday started in a friend’s car on the way home from a West Springfield bar, according to Springfield Police. An argument began between Dziewit and two other men outside of the bar and continued in one of the men’s car on the ride home. Dziewit, who was allegedly drunk, began yelling, kicking the car’s dashboard, and punching the driver. He became exasperated and stopped the car, telling her to get out. Her rant did not stop when officers arrived and officers determined that the only way to stop it was to place her under arrest. That’s when she claimed, “I’ve been recording you this whole time, my phone is in my purse, see you in court,” according to police. She now faces charges of unlawful wire tapping, disorderly conduct, and violating an open container law. Police say she refused to answer any questions. Her phone was confiscated as part of the investigation.
