With Glory finding form at the wrong end of the season, Lowe has understandably decided to stay with basis of the squad that has seen his team gain 2 wins on the bounce at home to Newcastle Jets and Central Coast Mariners. Missing this week, due to injury is fullback Josh Risdon who has a hamstring strain with youngster Matthew Davies being promoted to the squad as a possible replacement. Also out is star striker, Shane Smeltz who is still sidelined with a groin his injury. Captain, Jacob Burns is set to play his 116th and final game for Perth Glory, with the combative midfielder set to hang up his boots on what has been a stellar career in both Australia and Europe and Marquee defender, William Gallas, who has had a troublesome hamstring of late, looking to declare himself fit to play and come up against his World cup nemesis Alessandro Del Peiro once again. Frank Farina’s Sydney go into the game knowing a win will assure the harbour city team a place in the finals and depending on the rest of the weekends results they could finish as high as 2nd, yet a loss against Glory and a win for the Jets over Adelaide could mean 7th and a heartbreak for the glamour club, proving how congested the top of the Hyundai A-League ladder is.
