Sr Application Database Developer Employer: Rogers Date: Sep 24, 2013 Location: Brampton, Ontario, Canada Req ID: 5822-en_US Rogers is seeking a Sr Application Database Developer for database analysis and development of major systems in Rogers. Reporting to the Manager, Apps Development CRM at 8200 Dixie Rd, Brampton, ON, this individual will perform Application Databases Analysis including ongoing technical development and support, ensuring the integrity of the environment. This position will require interacting with the IT support teams to provide support in addressing any performance issues and monitoring the over health of the database environment. Responsibilities: • Good scripting ability and good working knowledge of complex database SQL scripts etc. • Managing large scale Oracle deployments in term of DB size and number of servers • Understanding of Oracle internal architecture • Performance tuning of Oracle database and SQL is required • Experience in database software management • Experience with database utilities: backup, restore, export and import. • Database health performance, configuration and monitoring event monitoring • Knowledge of recovery, logging, authentication, and authorizations • Familiar with a broad range of performance and support tools • Familiar with Oracle Enterprise Manager and other support tools to manage a database environment • Understanding Oracle storage options for data • Knowledge of table spaces, indexes, and partitioning capabilities, shell scripting where ever required. Qualifications • Bachelor Degree with 5 to 7 years of relevant experience required • Strong technical/functional analysis • Experience in database development lifecycle • Experience with Oracle 10g and 11g, Performance tuning, Query optimization • Experience in Tools PLSQL Developer, OEM, TOAD, AWR, RMAN, Import/Export • Performance tuning experience including extensive experience with explains and system snapshots • Extremely Strong Oracle PLSQL skills including the ability to rewrite complex queries and stored procedures for performance improvement development • Datamodel skills and Normalization, Design of high performance stored procs that is deadlock free in a highly concurrent environment. • Physical database design issues, de-normalization, materialized views • Experience with Oracle running on a distributed and High Available platform with Oracle RAC • Database Adiministation skills • Must possess good written and verbal communication skills • Capacity to learn new technology and ability to work with autonomy is required • Good understanding of call center operations and customer service environment • Familiar with Amdocs CRM data model • Database Adiministation skills are a plus Schedule: Full Time Shift: Day Length of Contract: Not Applicable (Regular Position) Work Location: 8200 Dixie Road (101), Brampton, Ontario Travel Requirements: None Posting Category/Function: Technology & Information Technology ABOUT US: In joining Rogers, you become part of Canada’s most dynamic communications and media company.
