Sr. Network Engineer (wireless) for immediate contracting Job Description: The duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to the following: - Deploy and operate an Cisco wireless network architecture to support the access needs of the community. This may include configuration and deployment of wireless controllers and access points and integration with authentication, authorization and accounting (AAA) systems in accordance with policies. - Wireless network and will suggest/implement based upon industry standards, improvements to the existing environment. She/he will be responsible for the design, installation, testing, implementation and maintenance of the Hospital Wireless Network, which is currently in the planning phase. He will be required to oversee all outside consultant/vendor projects. Other duties/responsibilities include the following: -Maintain Wireless Network -Evaluate all existing Downstate Wireless networks and suggest enhancements - Demonstrated knowledge of wired and/or wireless network technology - Consults with Network Engineering support personnel, and staff to assess future wireless needs and diagnose problems. Advise campus units on current and best practices for wireless technology use on the enterprise and in support of the users. - Work with the Network Infrastructure group to plan and perform wireless site surveys of locations and distributions facilities network design for remodeled and new areas/Buildings. - Evaluate new wireless products and technologies. Make recommendations to the Network Architect about these products and technologies for long-range planning of the wireless services. - Provides integration support for the wired and wireless networks - Provides technical support and research and development for managing high-speed wireless networking projects in support of initiatives. - Maintains a high level of professional expertise in areas such as emerging network security technologies and attends relevant professional conferences and standards forums, presenting and publishing his or her findings and research results in professional literature. Job Requirements Specific experience with the following products: Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers Cisco Access Points: 2700 or 3700 Series Cisco Identitiy Servie Engine ISE Cisco Secure Access Control System Overlay Management Tool: Cisco Prime 2.1 + Must be able to design/specify passive network requirements. Required Knowledge/Certifications: - CCNP Wireless is Mandatory. - CCNP R & S is a Plus. -VMware Knowledge is a Plus. - Windows Server Knowledge is a Plus. Required Experience: 3-4 Years Applicants must have Bachelor degree of Engineering or Computer Science.
