Srimad Bhagvat Geeta is a part in the Mahabharata, an epic and history of ancient India. It is incorrect and improper to term the Mahbharata as a mythology. The word myth is derived from the Sanskrit word Mythya, which means falsehood . The Mahabharata and the Ramayana are two great accounts of history which were compulsory for under graduate students in ancient India. Besides Sangopanga, that is combined study of the Vedas, Upavedas, Sadashastra, and Sadadarshana these two great historical accounts were included in the curriculum for students to be conferred with the degree of graduation called Deekshya (दीक्षा) and the Graduate was called Deekshita ( दीक्षित ). The fees paid was called Dakshina ( दक्षिणा ). The direction of the Guru was south or Dakshin ( दक्षिण ). Yama is seated in south direction, who is dharma guru and Yama is discipline of nature. We are disciples following the path shown by Guru or discipline . This discipline is the Dharma that holds the whole mankind, which are the Rules of law, prescribed by Nature that we may call the Natural Laws. The Supreme Court of India thus has adopted its motto from the Mahabharata, Yato Dharmah, Stato Jayah, which means Rule of law always triumphs . This motto reverberates our national motto Satyameva Jayate, or the Truth always triumphs , which is derived from the Upanishads. Dharma, Satya, and Nyaya ( धर्म , सत्य , न्याय ) or Natural Laws, the Truth and Justice are synonyms in Indian jurisprudence. The framers of our Constitution were great scholars unlike many politicians in power to-day.
