Srinagar, Jan 30: Prompted by Greater Kashmir report, Police have identified the teacher who is making fun of a school kid with impaired voice and uploading the recording on social networking sites. Greater Kashmir has learnt that the victim kid is a resident of Khundkareem, Watergam in north Kashmir enrolled in local government primary school while the accused teacher has been identified as Sajad Ahmad War S/ O Ghulam Muhammad War. He is working as a Rehber- e- Taleem ( ReT) in the school. The father of the kid told Greater Kashmir that the video has made their life hell and his son is reluctant to pursue studies. “ My son has confined himself now to four walls after he feels ashamed outside as everyone teases him while showing him the insulting video clip,” he said. Pertinently, the video clip which recently made to the social networking websites shows the teacher ( unseen in the video) making mockery of a lower kindergarten ( LKG) kid by subjecting him to mental agony. The kid is unable to pronounce English, Urdu and counting numbers in proper sequence. The video has gone viral on the social networking sites. His father said that he himself was also feeling dishonored. “ I am a simple laborer. I had enrolled him in local government school so that he can learn and become a good human being. He has been discouraged and the video has adversely affected him psychologically,” he said. A senior police official said they have taken cognizance of the matter and investigations are on. Director School Education Kashmir Mir Tariq Ali said he had directed concerned Chief Education Officer ( CEO) to set up the team to conduct immediate inquiry into the matter. “ Appropriate action under law will be taken in the matter,” he said. Meanwhile, various organizations including some senior and reputed medicos here have offered free treatment to the kid who suffers from impaired voice. “ We offer free treatment to the kid on humanitarian grounds,” said one of the medicos. Doctors Association Kashmir ( DAK) has also extended offer of free treatment to the kid. “ Such irresponsible behavior is unacceptable in a civilized society,” said Nisar- ul- Hassan, DAK president. Jammu and Kashmir Private Schools Association ( JKPSA) has also come forward for free treatment of the child. “ We have learnt that the student belongs to poor family. We offer him free treatment,” said GN Var, General Secretary of the Association.
