Students had submitted various representations to BOSE authorities pressing them to re- conduct the examination of October 28 mathematics paper, saying the questions were twisted. The Board decided to award grace marks and rejected demands of re-exam, saying the paper was within the syllabus. Reiterating their demand for re- examination, a delegation of aggrieved students said: “This has cast a shadow on the aspirations of many students who are planning to join engineering as a score of at least 50 per cent is must for getting admission to these courses or cracking other competitive exams.” They added: “We believe our demand for re-examination is justified not only for the reason that the paper was not at all suitable for our level but more so because of the panic and chaos it created in the examination centers saadik
