Srinagar, Nov 17: Prime MinisterNarendraModi has cancelled hisproposedvisit to Kashmir onNovember 21 and will nowaddress an election rally inKishtwar on November 22“His(Modi’s) Kashmir rally has beenpostponed,” a top BJP leadertold Greater Kashmir over phonefrom New Delhi.He said the BJP’sstar campaigners and PrimeMinister NarendraModi willaddress at least four electionrallies in Jammu, Kashmir,Ladakh and other areas. “Modiwill address first election rally inKishtwar district of Jammuregion on November 22 and thiswill be the beginning,” hesaid.He said the Prime Ministerwill address the rally to woovoters of phase-one in which sixAssembly segments includingRamban, Banihal, Doda,Bhaderwah, Inderwal andKishtwar are going to the pollson November 25.He saidKishtwar rally will be followed byModi’s another rally inUdhampur on November 30.TheBJP leader said on November 20,the party president, Amit Shahwill chair a “crucial” meeting ofthe party in Jammu. “Besidesdiscussion on arrangements forPM’s Kishtwar rally, preparationsfor elections would bethoroughly discussed,” he said,adding, “Home Minister RajnathSingh is likely to attend PMs rallyin Kishtwar.”BJP spokesmanKhalid Jehangir admitted thatModi will arrive in Kishtwar onNovember 22. “We have beentold that PMwill address the rally.I don’t know who else will bewith him,” he told GreaterKashmir.Pertinently, in 2008assembly elections, the BJP gotonly 11 seats in J&K. During thisyears LokSabha elections, theBJP won 3 seats—Ladakh,Jammu and Udhampur.
