Srinagar, Sep 9: Chairman Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani Sunday urged the people of South Kashmir districts to march towards Shopian on September 10 to express solidarity with the families of four youth killed by CRPF on Saturday. In a statement issued here, Geelani said people of Anantnag (Islamabad) , Pulwama, Kulgam, and Shopian should march towards Shopian on September 10. “In Shopian, a condolence meeting will be held and a protest would be staged against the killing of four youth,” Geelani said. In an apparent reference to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Geelani said government should not impose any restrictions on Tuesday and lift curfew from Shopian. Flaying Union Minister and NC president Dr Farooq Abdullah’s statement that there was no need of ordering an inquiry into Shopian killings, Geelani said it is the pro-India parties who are responsible for the killing of Kashmiri people. “National Conference shares primary responsibility for genocide of Kashmiris,” he said. “Instead of accepting moral responsibility for brutal killings and tendering their resignation, they were busy and making arrangements for music concert at Shalimar.” Geelani said the silence of international community over the innocent killings was unfortunate. “At the same time Indian media’s criminal silence on the killings in Kashmir is very unfortunate,” Geelani said.
