St. Anthony: Good at nothing but doing good. He would see God in others claving to be approached. He saw God in men presenting an opportunity to be fed. He was able recognize Him, not as the mighty and glorious Lord, but as wretch and hungry offering a demand for care. He did not necessarily help people so as to go to heaven, but his heart was open and moved by compasion, he sort to make people better. He was famous, but never allowed firm and popularity misdirect him. He took to poverty so as to be able to identify with God, the poor. He said prayers in his life time, but was and is known for the life of prayer he lived among men. He gave what he had, not because he did not value his possessions or that he had so much, but because he valued the much he had as to offer them and a life time for the sustainance of others, to the glory of God. He never had so much, true happiness from God was more than a life time could give. We look up to God, and pray that He may help us recognize him. We pray that He may give us the grace to be humble, to serve Him among men. To treat Him well when He poses as our naive maids/house helps, patients, the man on the street, the young, the old and the unloved. Please St. Anthony, pray for us. We really need ur prayer.
