Congratulations We would like to congratulation the Marist College on getting through to the Leinster Schools Final. We also wish them the very best of luck in the final in Croke Park on Saturday next. Handball Handball training is on every Sunday in Curraghboy handball complex and every Friday in St Brigids club Hall. 8Yrs to 10Yrs - Boys and Girls,11am to 12 Noon (Curraghboy handball complex) 11Yrs to 13Yrs - Boys and Girls, 12 Noon to 1pm (Curraghboy handball complex) 11Yrs to 13Yrs - Boys and Girls, 7 – 8:30 (Fridays only – one wall - St Brigids club Hall) Please note that Handball goggles must be worn by all participating. Minor Committee Notes week ending Sunday, March 2nd 2014 The U-14 squad put in an excellent performance in a challenge game against a strong Monivea team in Kiltoom on Saturday evening last. In horrendous weather conditions, the team recorded a solid victory against the Galway outfit. Training continues this week for teams at all grades. The Minor Committee is once again encouraging all players to register before March 31st in order to be eligible to play for their team. Well done to The Marist College senior team and their St Brigid’s contingent who had a comprehensive semi-final victory over Wexford school Good Counsel on Saturday last in Carlow. The win sets them up for a Leinster ‘A title tilt against Dublin’s Coláiste Eoin, who overwhelmed defending champions St Pat’s of Navan in the other semi-final. We wish the Athlone school the very best of luck in the final, which will serve as the curtain raiser to the Dublin v Kildare NFL game in Croke Park next Saturday St Brigid’s Ladies Report wk. ending 01/03/2014 Fixtures U.16 Girls St.Brigids vs. Roscommon Gaels Sunday 9th March at 4pm in Kiltoom Senior Ladies St.Brigids vs. Kilbride Sunday 9th March at 12pm in Kilbride Results U16 girls St. Brigid’s Pieta House sponsored U16 Girls team defeated Kilglass Gales away in the championship last Sunday 01/03/2014. The team had a great victory in the U16 championship, against Kilglass Gales. A great performance put in from all girls number 1 to 14, with some great football for the start of the year. There was some great team work throughout the team and areal confidence booster. Final score 9-11 to 3-6 Panel: Hannah Daly, Aoife Coyle, Sinead Gonley(1-0), Rian Callaghan(0-1), Aisling Gordon, Rebecca Byrne, Orla Donnelly(2-5), Megan Cummins(3-2), Claire Dolan, Fiona Dolan, Rachel Gallagher(0-1), Ciara Gleeson, Claire Lemass, Lauren Curran(3-2), Team photographs The Ladies Committee is aiming to put photographs of all winning Ladies teams down through the years on the clubhouse wall. Anyone who may be able to help with information on winning teams or may have photographs of relevant teams is asked to contact ladies Committee Chairman Tomás Beades. Training Training continues for all grades from U8s to Senior. Players will be notified of any changes to normal training times. We are always welcoming new members.
