St. Jude the Apostle St. Jude was Jesus’ cousin who wrote the Letter of St. Jude in the Bible. Together with St. Bartholomew, he brought the Gospel to Armenia. He is often shown with a pendant of the Face of Christ, a symbol originated from a legend about a sick king who asked to be cured using a drawing of Jesus. The Lord pressed His Face into a cloth which St. Jude delivered to cure the king. The flame above St. Jude’s head is symbolic of the Holy Spirit. He is the patron saint of desperate cases and lost causes. St. Jude’s feast day is on 28 October.
