St.Kitts-Nevis entrepreneurs launch regional classifieds website ******************************** Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 04 2014— Local entrepreneurs have launched the federation’s first dedicated online classifieds website: jinglads (pronounced: “jingle-ads”). The site, a classifieds listing portal, allows users to create and view classifieds and advertisements for products and services. These can be up for sale, for trade, or free. jinglads also has local versions for eleven (11) other islands in the Caribbean, with currency and locale specific features. Laurent Fough, founder and technical director for the digital community and marketplace, said that the space is in response to the local and regional growing market for online ‘swap shops’, especially among the local and foreign student population. “The site provides a safe environment for the individual as well as small businesses and even large corporations to showcase their products and services without the expense of traditional advertising or physical spaces,” said the entrepreneur. Users, both merchants and buyers are able to specify their location, and use advanced search options to filter their search according to budget and category. Registered users are also able to subscribe to or “watch” any listing, that they are interested in for updates in price, availability and more.
