St. Pete Officers help special kids enjoy Santas visit!!! The Mr. Strong Foundation hosted its first ever Sweets and Treats with Santa for Special Needs Children at the Ed White Medical Arts Building, Nov. 30. Detective Brett McKean dressed as Santa Claus and another officer from the St. Pete Police Department as his elf, and offered to help with this event. Event organizer says Its amazing having such a strong support from our community. Our vision for the day was for each special needs child and sibling(s) to be able to meet and greet with Santa and get their picture taken without having to stand in line at the mall. Each child received a bag filled with presents. All of our toys were donated from various individuals around the community. We look forward to doing this event next year and making it bigger and better. The Mr. Strong Foundation, Inc. is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization based out of St. Petersburg, FL. Our foundation provides funding for special needs children to receive occupational, physical, speech and behavioral therapy services.
