Stacy Jay is an award winning artist originally from the Chicago suburbs, now living in the southwest. Her inspiration comes from the beautiful surroundings of the desert, in which she focuses on the gold of the brass, the reds and rust color of copper which in turn becomes a 3-dimensional original piece of jewelry. Stacy also uses other metals including steel, aluminum, sterling silver and vintage finds such as metal dollhouses incorporated in her designs. All of the jewelry are original, innovative and quality made from raw materials. She uses several techniques from fold forming, piercing, casting and cold connection some taught formally to her but mostly self taught. The color of the metal is changed by heat altering techniques and patinas to coincide well with the stones.
