Stafford Friends: Did you enjoy the Dodge Ball tournament!? Did you love seeing the parents and teachers all hanging together and being there for our kids? THATS what teachers do! Did you know that our teachers are without a contract and have been for over 240 days?! No? Thats because they are at school early and stay late and still volunteer as if they have a contract. THATS what teachers do! Did you know that some thought they should NOT play at the dodge ball tournament because of the way negotiations are going? No? Thats because they showed up even without having a contract. THATS what teachers do! Did you know they have a committee for mediation for the contract negotiations and one night they were in a meeting until 5 am? No? Thats because every teacher showed up that next day in school ON TIME. THATS what teachers do! Ive been in a school where negotiations got bad and we were told to stop doing any extras. Who suffers then? The kids! Trust me- teachers arent the greedy, money hungry people that some make them out to be. When it comes down to it- teachers are there for the kids, but lets be honest- working without a contract isnt the way it should be. It shouldnt be difficult to sit and resolve. The teachers still need to be paid what they deserve and from my experience in Stafford- which is AMAZING- there should be no question where their hearts are! If things dont get settled soon it is going to get ugly. Ive been in that situation and know that no teacher wants to be out of the classroom and away from their students when it does get ugly!! Spread the word to all parties involved that we as parents in this district need contracts settled!! We need our teachers in the classrooms and HAPPY! Please share so parents are aware of this situation! Stafford Township has an amazing district! Lets keep it that way!!!
