Stage 1 of retaking this back. There were two workshops at the National Green Party Convention in St Paul Minnesota that were treated with complete disrespect. My workshop titled Race and Class Bias and Privilege in Progressive Groups and the other run by my friend Reyna Crow of Minnesota titled Not Burning Bridges With Indigenous Allies. Ironically the way these two workshops were treated pretty much made the point of both. It is obvious to myself and others that this was more than some mishap. This was deliberate. There was a message sent by some of the leaders and gatekeepers in the Green Party. That message is we do not want these topics to be explored or even discussed. It has become obvious to me that this is more than just gross incompetence and silliness. It is my studied opinion that there are sections of the National Green Party that are deliberately trying to keep the Green party small and disorganized. That the radical voices within her are stifled, muffled and marginalized. Because these radical voices are always the ones who are willing to do the necessary grunt work to build a political party. I am not sure if this is simply because some do not want the Green Party to grow because they want to ego trip and remain big fish in a small pond or if this is simply a way to manage damage control on behalf of the Democratic Party. Or it could be elements of both. It needs to stop. I will be calling on local state Green parties to disaffiliate from the National Green party, starting with my own state of Minnesota. let each state decide who we want to support for president. In fact this disaffiliation from the National Green Party, a body I no longer trust at all can fit right into our own Green Party principle of decentralization of political power and decision making. It is the Green thing to do.
