Stand! January 23 “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand,” Ephesians 6:10-13. This is an awesome passage of scripture that every believer in Christ must take to heart. The horrible persecution of Christians that is being perpetrated in places like Iraq can be wreaking havoc in our own nations within a short amount of time. Our governmental leaders seem oblivious to the threat posed by immigration into our borders—legal and illegal—by people whose intent is not to assimilate into our culture, to become one of us, but to pull down our culture and establish theirs. Allow the magnitude of the following information soak into your sensibilities: The ruthlessness of the Islamic State has resulted in thousands of muslim refugees fleeing to other nations, causing a colonization of muslims in those nations that receive them. Leaders of those western nations that are welcoming them with open arms dont seem to realize that these immigrants are simply ‘a turn of a page in the koran’ away from being islamists. One example of the fact that ordinary citizens see the threat while leaders are oblivious to the danger has occurred in Germany where over 15,000 people took to the streets to protest Islamization. They are holding weekly marches that have grown from a few hundred in attendance to protest the over 150,000 Muslims coming to Germany from Syria. Has this resulted in a response to the concerns of German citizens by their leaders that would reduce immigration from Islamic countries? No! Rather, German Chancellor Angela Merkel responded by addressing the nation: There is freedom of assembly in Germany but there is no place here for incitement and lies about people who come to us from other countries. Germany is being colonized by Muslims and among the refugees there are, quite assuredly, Islamists whose intent is not to become law-abiding German citizens but to radically transform Germany into an Islamic state. Within the United States, there is great reason for concern, but the preponderance of the citizenry are unaware of the existence of a problem. The US State Department announced that the UN has selected some 9,000 Muslim refugees from Syria to be resettled in America. The current Administration has a goal of accepting 70,000 refugees a year, which is an understated number. Once the refugees are here, they are to be placed on a ‘fast track’ for citizenship so their extended families will then be allowed to soon join them. The State Department explained that the US will take in only those Syrians who are persecuted by their government. WorldNetDaily reports that Christians in Syria are being killed by IS and other Muslim rebels, not by their government, but the Sunni Muslims are being killed by the Shiite-led government, so only Syrian Sunni Muslims are entering the US. Like their counterparts who are settling in Europe, their intent will not be to assimilate into our culture but to radically transform our Christian culture of freedom and tolerance to one of Islamic intolerance. As we are admonished in the passage of scripture quoted above, we are not wrestling with flesh and blood. Jesus loves these people and died for their salvation, but the demonic religion in which they are steeped is a tool in the hand of the evil one to effect his dominion over all the earth. As we are told of God’s ancient foe in II Thessalonians 2:4, “he will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in Gods temple, proclaiming himself to be God.” This will be the realization of his stated goal in Isaiah 14:14 where he declared, “I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.” It appears that Islam is the vehicle the enemy will use to endeavor to glean for himself the one thing he has wanted since his fall from Heaven, the one thing that is the right of God alone--the worship of men (see Luke 10:18). We who know Christ as Savior and Lord must stand against this evil…stand against it in prayer, stand against it in the living epistle of our lives, stand against it in our witnessing to our lost neighbors, and stand against it in our willingness to lay down our lives if necessary to allow the glory of Christ to be high and lifted up in us. We must, indeed, “Put on the whole armor of God,” so we may stand firmly against the evil day that is upon us.
