***Stand-out highlights for U2 in 2014***: 2014 saw U2 win the 2014 Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song for Ordinary Love. Its the bands second Golden Globe. The first being The Hands That Build America in 2003 for Best Original Song for featuring in the film of Gangs of New York. Ordinary Love was first released in late 2013. The song was written to honour Nelson Mandela and is included in the biography film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom. After the release of Ordinary Love, it was followed later by a lyric video to accompany the song. Oliver Jeffers and Mac Premo are the creative duo behind the Ordinary Love lyric video. They also made a second video, but this time for a different mix of the song which was done by Paul Epworth with the inclusion of the band in the video this time around (original mix was by Danger Mouse). The song was given a limited 10-inch vinyl release on Record Store Day, 29th November 2013, less than a week before Mandela died. ~ Thomas
