Standing in a yard piled high with the entrails of slaughtered animals, 3 tattooed Thoroughbreds were among 10 rescued equines pulled from an illegal slaughterhouse on Oct. 6, and led to safety from a remote region of East Everglades Florida..... We will be heading down to Miami this Sunday to pick up Flattering Irene (pictured below) from South Florida SPCA - Dedicated to Horse & Animal Rescue. She was rescued along with several other animals on October 6th from horrid conditions. Irene is an Off The Track Thoroughbred who was already listed as deceased in Jockey Club information. We are looking forward to sharing Irenes Journey with you throughout her rehabilitation.
