Stanley F. Reed portrait Description Stanley Forman Reed was born on December 31, 1884, in Mason County. He was a graduate of Yale University. He was a lawyer and a veteran of World War I. He married Winifred Egan in May of 1908. He was for a long time a resident of Maysville. He was elected to the state House of Representatives in November of 1911, and reelected in November of 1913. He was a Democrat He was appointed as General Consul of the Reconstruction Finance Corporation in 1932. He was later appointed as Solicitor General of the United States. He was appointed to the Supreme Court in January of 1938. He retired from the Court in 1957. He died in Huntington, New York, in 1980, and is buried in Maysville, Kentucky.
