Starbeat presents whats happening!... Another installment of NMB roadrash tales! Friday found us still Ebola free down in Houston, TX at Dan Electros Guitar Bar. We really had a great time despite a somewhat smaller than desired crowd. The folks on hand really got into it and showed their enthusiasm all night, (including the young lady who chose to do an exotic dance in front of and on our stage!) The new club owners treated us great, and I wish them well, however, the blues and music loving community in Houston needs to get out and show some support before we all lose another great venue. This is not just a problom in Houston, this is nationwide. I read a post on Houston blues Societys page about my show, and here is a small excerpt of my post on their wall.... I hope that the Blues societys in this country take a more active stance in their communities to help the clubs and the bands who are treading to keep live music from dying a slow death! I and countless other bands and clubs who love this music so much are counting on the members of societys like yours to not only promote shows within your society, but to help spread the word to non-members and try to hip them to your club or society and the power of experiencing live music up close and personal!!......but this means that more then 12-15 members have to show up at these great performances, especially when they take place on a weekend!!...We all need to do our part. Im doing mine! Saturday night was a different story, we had a triple bill going at the Aztec Theater in San Antonio, TX with Tab Benoit and Guy Forsyth. The Aztec is a beautiful theater, and playing music in a beautiful theater like that really makes for a special night! The crowd was waiting for its headliner, but they warmed up to us by the time the first song was over! We had em dancing and smiling and hooping and hollering at the foot of the stage throughout our whole set! Guy was up next, and he brought his brand of Texas Americana, to keep the people happy. Tab and his band did not disappoint his loyal followers when it was finally their turn, and Tab even got Guy and myself up for the last few numbers to keep the party going!! Sunday night we arrived in Ft. Worth, TX at the world famous Keys Lounge! A great venue on the outskirts of town. Holland K Smith came down and joined in for a few numbers including a stellar version of Bobby Blands I Pity The Fool! Even owner Danny got up and played some mean organ! People, you got to get out and support your local live music venues!!! Our last stop in Texas, (and still Ebola free!) was last night in El Paso,TX at Moz BBQ...These folks know whats what! A packed house and killer food made NMB feel welcome and appreciated the Texas way! Cant wait to come back! Thanks to all our Texas fans and Friends who made the last week a memorable one...until next time Americas 2nd largest Country! Now its off to the left side to do some more of what NMB do!!
