Starpower Friday! I have to say I am feeling it today! I just returned from a 2 hour Assessment with a potential new Indie Teen client (my Assertiveness & Leadership Program + Mentor-ship for Youth) and not only did I potentially acquire 1 new client but, 2 (her Mom). On top of that I have been offered 2 speaking gigs. One for the Lesbian Film Festival (which they tell me is the biggest in the world currently with between 700-1000 women in attendance) and the second speaking to Investors about Ownership of their career, income and life! Heres why I say potentially... I work counter intuitively to most teachings and my practice has almost reached its max for private mentoring at the moment. I have never pressed anyone to work with me in my many years in business because I believe if you are honest, forthcoming, straight up and empowering to others so that they can make educated choices based on what is best for them...money is never an issue and the concern for buyers remorse is off the table. For me, I despise high-pressure sales calls. If I feel like I have to make the decision on the spot then the answer is clear no thanks I dont run my business making impulsive decisions (but, yes have been caught in it in past) and I dont sell my services based on promoting fear, lack or desperation. I sell my services on what can be if they choose. Ownership for what will or wont be is placed where it belongs (potential client) as well as the right to say NO without fear, judgment, panic, excuse, blame or shame. I have tried the other route of fear based selling and failed....why? Because that is not what I am about and so could not stand behind selling it. These 2 amazing women hugged me on the way out the door as did their partner and step-mom and have expressed deep desire to begin work with me but, I have asked them to take their time, talk as a family and decide together if 1) this is right for them 2) if they are ready.... My belief: Give people the key to the door, then empower them to make the choice whether or not to walk through it and it is you who will be top of mind Feeling on top of the world...and loving my work more and more everyday.
