Stars Gather for “We Are the World” Stars gathered in Los Angeles to re-record the charity song “We are the World.” Pink, Barbra Streisand, Jennifer Hudson, Natalie Cole, Keith Urban and the Jonas Brothers are just six of the more than 70 stars gathered together by Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie at the Henson Recording Studios (formerly the A&M Studios) to remake the song to mark the 25th anniversary of the original. This time around, the top talent is working together to raise funds to help earthquake devastated Haiti. The song will reportedly be released during the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics on NBC this month. Months after guitarist Joe Perry stated “Tyler quit as far as I can tell,” the lead singer’s attorney sent a letter to the band demanding they “immediately cease and desist from engaging in acts and conduct to the harm and detriment of your own client, Aerosmith, and our client who is one of its members,” according to Billboard. If all ends well, the band behind “Walk This Way” might, just might, be headed in the same direction together. The “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” star is working on a pilot with NBC called “Beach Lane.” The comedy, which has Broderick playing an author, is backed by writer Paul Simms (“NewsRadio”) and “Saturday Night Live” producer Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video.
