Start recruitment in aided schools: Teachers to govt Our Correspondent Fatehgarh Sahib, August 7 A delegation of the Government Aided Schools Bachao Front, Punjab, led by its president Malkiat Singh, chairman Sandeep Sarin, general secretary Anju Kaura submitted a memorandum to Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal here today. They demanded that teachers of government-aided schools should not be merged with those of government schools. They said instead of this, the state authorities should lift the ban on the recruitment in these schools imposed by Capt Amarinder Singh-led Congress government. They urged the Deputy Chief Minister to direct the Education Minister to start a fresh recruitment process in these schools, even if on the contract basis, and to allow the managing committees of these schools to fill the vacant posts from among the unaided staff working in these schools. They said these schools were set up under Section 25 of the Constitution for the cause of minority communities. They said there were 476 schools with around 4 lakh students and a majority of these schools were without principals, clerical staff, class four employees and specialised teachers. Members of the delegation said all the facilities in government schools to teachers and students should be provided in these schools, too. They said the Sarva Shikhsha Abhiyan should be implemented in aided schools also and the students should be given scholarships, cycles and uniforms.
