Start to Finish: The Glory is in the FINISH! We start diets (I know about that), we make commitments for changing our character (New Year’s Resolutions)… Anyone can go through a wedding ceremony; it takes a lot more to stay Married. A woman can create a baby; it takes much more to be a mother! A man may be male by birth but it takes much more to be a man! Many are compelled to come to Jesus but how many finish with “Good” fruit? Notice the Bible charge….Finish what you start! 1Peter 1:23, “You have been BORN (Began) anew, not from perishable but from imperishable seed, through the living and enduring word of God!” (The goal to finish, Eternal Life) “Run with endurance the race that is set before us… We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus; the champion who initiates (STARTS) and perfects (COMPLETES) our faith.” (Hebrews 12:2) Philippians 1:6, “And I am certain that God, who BEGAN the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally FINISHED on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” Consider This Amazing Example…~John Stephen Ahkwari, (Tanzania) after finishing the 1968 Olympics marathon in Mexico City with a severely injured leg was asked why he continued running, there was no chance for a medal? His response, My country didnt send me 5,000 miles to start the race. They sent me 5,000 miles to finish the race. ~The Apostle Paul, 2 Timothy 4:7echoed these sentiments, I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith “Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs (BEGINS), but only one person gets the prize? So run to win (FINISH)… So I run with purpose in every step... Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.” 1Cor. 9:25-27 Finishing successful Christianity requires total surrender to the will, purposes, patterns and principles of the WORD of God… Then, Jesus’ “GRACE” will complete what He has initiated in our hearts. The key to fruitful lifestyle of victory is walking under the Lordship of Jesus Christ! What God begins… He is well able to finish for all who pick up their Cross and walk!
