Started at midnight, gathering extra coats, shirts(some interview worthy), socks, pjs, tissues, first aid, kits, hydrogen peroxide,wet wipes, and a whole case of individual packs of applesauce (and a few spoons), fresh bottled water and some blankets. Got to the beach at about 1:30 am. Too many bags to carry, so I stopped the first guy on a bike (the only form of transportation for the homeless) he helped me carry some of the bags on his bike. As it turned out, someone had stolen his clothes, I just smiled and said, well I have lots of clothes, so no worries. We enlisted more help from the encampment, and of loaded three more hefty trash bags, full of more clothes and blankets. Got home around 4:30 am. It was an incredibly calm beautiful night. With some very kind and grateful people.
