Started off this morning with some X3 yoga. I got some good hamstring stretching in. I use a yoga strap since I am still working on my flexibility. A tie or a fabric belt works great too!! Here is the 4-way stretch: {1} Fold in your left leg & stick the right one out straight. Sit up straight, put your arms in the air, and bend forward at the waist. This is where I grab onto the strap! Pull your chest toward your toes with the strap. Make sure you keep your chest & heart up and back straight. {2} Take your left leg and place it over top of your thigh. This forces the right hamstring flat onto the ground. Follow the same instructions as above. On this one, it barely looks like I am bending… but I can FEEL it! {3} Keep your left leg folded on top of your other leg & bring your right knee up to your chest & your right heel as close to your body as possible. You should feel an awesome stretch in your outer hip & glute! {4} Let your left leg fall over to the side to get into the twist position. Sit up straight & reach your right arm into the air. Use your right elbow to twist your spine by pressing on the outside of your left knee. Be sure you are sitting up straight the entire time! Stay in these positions as long as you want! And don’t forget to switch legs!
