Started wondering yesterday about songs with unreliable narrators. I feel like there are a bunch of them; any suggestions? The song that brought this to mind is I Wont Say (Im in Love) from _Hercules_ (https://itunes.apple/us/album/hercules-original-walt-disney/id191999705), but shes only a little bit unreliable, or maybe shes just in denial. The next one I thought of, in somewhat the same vein, is Susan Werners Much At All (susanwerner/content/music/lyrics/icbn_track5.html): I guess that I dont miss you much at all. (You can hear that song here, though I recommend ignoring the added visuals: https://youtube/watch?v=DtEoFymPQ4k) And there are songs in which two people make conflicting claims about what happened, like Dont You Want Me (metrolyrics/dont-you-want-me-lyrics-human-league.html); I guess thats a kind of unreliability. But Id be interested in clearer-cut examples of songs where its obvious to the listener that the narrator is an unreliable one, especially if the song never explicitly says that.
