Starting in the 2013-2014 school year, Polk County Public Schools will participate in the Community Eligibility Option (CEO) pilot program. All students who attend preselected schools identified as having a high percentage of low-income students will be served free breakfasts and lunches without having to fill out a qualifying application for the free and reduced meal programs. Of the 48 schools in the pilot program - both Frostproof Elementary and Ben Hill Griffin, Jr. Elementary will be included. Translates: Students at these two as well at the other schools will ALL receive both breakfast and lunch meals each day - FREE - no applications will be required for anyone at these schools.
