Starting my day out - clearing misunderstanding with a brother - on this scripture. NEVER pay back evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all men. If possible, so far as it depends on you, be AT PEACE with all men. Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, vengeance is mine, I will repay says the Lord. Romans 12:17-19 I have that posted on the door post of my office, where I can see it at my desk. I also had it posted beneath my palm and on the inside wall of the DJ booth for 9 years at Graham Central Station. (I got LOTS of opportunity to read and re-read it in that particular environment! Lol.) In my experience - for MEN at least - it is too easy to be offended through some misunderstanding - and to have that misunderstanding turn brother against brother. I have found that when I am gathering resentment against someone - to actually take that person aside and APOLOGIZE to them, to humble myself to them and to ask THEM to forgive ME for holding the offense in the first place. THANKFULLY - this has not happened often - but when it has, and Ive had to do it - I have never had the other person not also humble themselves to hold themselves accountable for their part in what may have led to the misunderstanding. This is COUNTER to what men WANT to do. (I cant speak for women - I just know the testosterone factor for men.) IT IS A GAME CHANGER - and has for me - created ALIGNMENT against the challenge/battle/obstacle/enemy. For me - it creates AGREEMENT - in the natural, which is then bound in the spiritual. I could have written the entire thing off by saying, Its just a man thing. It just seemed important to be transparent about one personal struggle today - and to share how I see that a Christian man - at least THIS Christian man - should be accountable to a brother for something that was not clear or easy to understand. Now the air is cleared - and I look forward to shaking that mans hand again as soon as we cross paths again. I hope he feels the same...and so thats why I pray for wisdom - and also favor - every day. So far as it depends on ME - TROY LEGER WILL be AT PEACE - with all men. I prayerfully say thank you Father - for Your favor, mercy, grace and understanding between my brother and me today. May we continue to find favor with one another. As one of my mentors says repeatedly - LEAD FROM THE FRONT (Comments and input always welcome. You may show me something I may still be missing in my limited view/understanding of humanity in its broken state.)
