Starting off this school year, I have big ambitions. Ambitions to - TopicsExpress

Starting off this school year, I have big ambitions. Ambitions to graduate by the end of the first semester (a year and a half early), to achieve straight As, and to head off to the university of my dreams and start the rest of my life with a bang! Ive had these goals for YEARS, and have worked at them for YEARS in order to execute them fully, and to the best of my ability. Unfortunately, a start to this school year that is any later than 2-3 weeks in will completely ruin my carefully thought-out plan, and any later than November, I might not be able to graduate this year at all. Since I was in the 8th grade, I have had the unbelievable support from teachers and administrators alike required to allow my goals to become a reality. Not only have I had a teacher by my side to support me in my academic ambitions, but I have had many teachers inspire, encourage and uplift me on a day-to-day basis for the last 12 years of my life. That alone sounds like enough to deserve bargaining in good faith. However, that doesnt even begin to cover the miraculous ways my life has been touched by a teacher. Without a teacher, I would still be stuck in an abusive home, without a teacher, I would have no place to go, and without a teacher, I would still be questioning whether life itself was worth living at all. I have been in situations where I have had nowhere to go, and when my own family wouldnt take me, a teacher opened her heart, her home, and provided me with a warm plate of food, a bed, and above all else, someone who treated me like family. It was a teacher who said I believe in you!, a teacher who said Were going to get through this., and most importantly, a teacher who decided never to give up on me when my own family did. It fair to say that my life circumstances havent been ideal. Some of the only consistent support I have received throughout my life has been from my teachers; people who work tirelessly to have their students see a brighter, better future ahead of them. Teachers deserve ideal working conditions, and children deserve the support that they require to flourish! If you, as British Columbians, want a brighter future for your province, please consider supporting your local teachers. Stand up beside them, and show them that youre not going down without a fight. Your children deserve better, and so do the people who support them. Sincerely, Another BC Student.
