Starting with the New Year, i will be starting a new drug to try & force this skin disorder (pemphigus vulgaris) into remission. If it works, theres a strong possibility i can come off the steroids, the immuno suppressant, & even the insulin (since the steroid has a tendency to run my sugar up.) Its called Rituximab & will be given, much like chemo, in the form of an infusion which can take from 4 - 6 hours, depending on my tolerance. I wish to send sincere Thank Yous to all of you beautiful people in advance--my friends--as i am asking for prayers for my family & myself, as well as my personal care attendent & her family, & the doctors & medical staff in charge of my treatment. The initial treatment will be given once a week for 4 weeks. Any ideas or info you may be willing to share is welcomed!
