State Police Superintendent Joseph D’Amico named 2014 Person of the Year Award by security organization NEW YORK – ASIS International, an organization for security professionals, honored New York State Police Superintendent Joseph D’Amico with its 2014 Person of the Year Award on Friday, March 14 in New York City. “I am truly honored to receive the Person of the Year recognition from the ASIS International New York City Chapter,” said D’Amico. “I have been fortunate in my career to work for two great police agencies, the New York City Police Department and now the New York State Police. I know that I owe my success, in large part, to the men and women of those organizations, and the support of my family.” The ASIS New York City Person of the Year Award is a prestigious annual award presented to a public official or private sector individual that has demonstrated outstanding dedication, caring, and service to the New York community. It recognizes the individual’s contribution to the security and safety of all citizens in NY State and the Greater New York Metropolitan Area. The award recipient is chosen by the senior leadership of the ASIS New York City Chapter and it requires unanimous committee agreement for selection.
