State Senator Larry Hicks is opposed to an effort by county - TopicsExpress

State Senator Larry Hicks is opposed to an effort by county commissioners to seek an extension to a $10-million dollar AML grant previously approved by the legislature to improve a county road between Elk Mountain and Medicine Bow. Hicks would rather spend the money on a reservoir project on Battle Pass that would help irrigators in the Little Snake River Valley. The senator from Baggs warned commissioners last week that the use of AML funds for County Road 3 is “a stretch” that might invite a raid on the money from lawmakers. Hicks also suggested his water project would win approval without a fight. Bigfoot 99 has the story Tuesday.
